Hollywood, California – August 8, 2012 – Celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year, The Beach Boys have performed more than 50 concerts since April and had their highest-ever debut on Billboard’s albums chart in June with their critically acclaimed new studio release, That’s Why God Made The Radio.

Capitol/EMI is pleased to announce the CD and digital release of two new commemorative hits collections by.

The Beach Boys’ new 50th Anniversary Greatest Hits collection features 20 of the band’s most popular songs, including “California Girls,” “Good Vibrations,” “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “God Only Knows,” “Kokomo,” their latest single “That’s Why God Made The Radio,” and many more.

A deluxe, career-spanning 2CD box and digital collection titled Greatest Hits: 50 Big Ones will also be released, featuring 50 Beach Boys favorites, including two songs from the band’s new album -- the title track “That’s Why God Made The Radio” and a new single version of “Isn’t It Time,” which will be serviced to radio in September. The 2CD lift-top box package also includes an expanded booklet with newly written liner notes by Rolling Stone contributing editor David Wild and seven postcards.

The 12 Beach Boys studio albums have been digitally remastered by Mark Linett and will be released on CD and digitally, most featuring mono and stereo mixes. The albums are: Surfin’ U.S.A.; Surfer Girl; Little Deuce Coupe; Shut Down, Volume 2; All Summer Long; The Beach Boys Today!; Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!); Beach Boys Party!; Pet Sounds; Smiley Smile; Sunflower (stereo mix only); and Surf’s Up (stereo mix only). These releases mark the stereo debut of Smiley Smile and Beach Boys Party!, while The Beach Boys Today! and Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!) are being released in stereo for the first time in their entirety. The new releases include the first-ever stereo mixes of several key Beach Boys classics, including “Good Vibrations,” “Help Me, Rhonda,” “I Get Around,” and “409,” among others.

That’s Why God Made The Radio is the Beach Boys 2012 album on Capitol/EMI.

Beach Boys Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks recently completed their recording sessions at Los Angeles’ Ocean Way Studios for That’s Why God Made The Radio, the band’s 29th studio album (including 2011’s The SMiLE Sessions), the first in decades to feature all of the band’s surviving original members. 

Produced by Brian Wilson and executive produced by Mike Love, the album’s 12 new songs illustrate The Beach Boys’ unique and evocative West Coast story with the band’s timeless signature sound.  The Beach Boys’ collaborative approach to writing and recording their new music is evidenced throughout the album, with all of the band members participating to create its glorious harmonies, lyrics, and arrangements.

A Postcard from California, was largely penned by Al Jardine and features a regular “who’s who” of classic rock and popular music royalty. Jardine was joined in the studio by a steady and willing stream of famous friends, including Brian Wilson, Neil Young, Steve Miller, Glen Campbell, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell of America, Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Alec Baldwin, and John Stamos. Completing the generational span, Jardine’s sons, Matthew and Adam, are also heard on vocal harmonies.

In support of Record Store Day on April 16, Capitol/EMI will release limited edition vinyl titles for The Beach Boys and Syd Barrett, to be sold exclusively by participating independent music retailers across the U.S.

The Beach Boys’ “Good Vibrations”/”Heroes and Villains” will be released as a limited edition double 78RPM vinyl single set with the songs’ original single release mixes on one disc and alternate versions of both songs on the other disc.

Former Monkee Micky Dolenz's album
"King For A Day" is now available. The album was produced by Jeffrey Foskett, the Beach Boys band member and current bandleader for Brian Wilson's band.

"Micky is an incredible vocalist and musician," said Foskett. "Working with an accomplished artist of his caliber made it easy to produce this record. I'm proud to be part of this project."

"King For A Day" is an homage to singer/songwriter Carol King. A prominent songwriter for The Monkees, Carol King penned a number of the group's most memorable hits, such as "Pleasant Valley Sunday," "Porpoise Song-Theme From Head," and "Sometime In The Morning."
The album includes 15 classic songs from the Carole King catalog.

The Beach Boys’ best love songs, from tender ballads to boisterous romps, have been gathered for Summer Love Songs, a new 20-track CD and digital collection to be released May 19 (May 18 internationally) by Capitol/EMI.  Three classic tracks have been mixed in stereo for the first time, exclusively for this release, and three others have received new stereo mixes.  Two of the new stereo mixes have been created from long lost, newly-recovered analog multi-track masters. A rare track, previously unreleased in the U.S. and long out-of-print in the U.K., is also included.

Summer Love Songs also includes “Fallin’ In Love,” a song written and recorded by Dennis Wilson during the Beach Boys’ Sunflower album sessions in 1970.  The track has never before been released in the U.S. and has long been out-of-print in the U.K. (where it was released as “Lady”).  This track has also been mixed in stereo for the first time. A companion to Wilson’s critically-acclaimed "That Lucky Old Sun" cd , the DVD features more than two and a half hours of content, including a full-length live performance of the album, a new feature-length documentary and additional behind-the-scenes footage from the album’s recording sessions, and some of Wilson’s recently filmed promotional performances and interviews.

The new That Lucky Old Sun DVD features a full-length performance of Wilson’s latest album, filmed live at Capitol Studios on May 19, 2008 in 5.1 Surround and 2.0 Stereo audio, as well as a new feature-length film, Going Home, directed and edited by George Dougherty, which documents the making of the album and Wilson’s return to his original record label, Capitol Records.

In 1977, Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue became the first solo LP to be released by a member of the legendary Beach Boys. Dennis, the band's surfer, drummer and free spirit, emerged from the shadow of his older brother, pop genius Brian Wilson, and shocked the industry with a sound and style unlike any other.
At the age of 39, Wilson drown while diving at Marina Del Rey, CA, December 28, 1983.

Former Beach Boys band member, Blondie Chaplin has released a new solo album.
“We’ve been working on ‘Between Us’ for a year and a half,” Chaplin explains, recording all the tracks in New York City between 2003 and 2005. “I did all the music… I wrote the songs with my friend Keith,” with Steve Barber arranging the album’s strings.
