SO...HOW DID I GET THE GIG WITH THE BEACH BOYS?
"In 1989, I was hired by Beach Boys lead singer Mike Love's Global Entertainment Organization (GEO) to organize and implement personal appearances by the Beach Boys to benefit GEO's "Project Teach Scholarship Program". It was a traveling position with the Beach Boys on their 1989 and 1990 tours. I was working on my masters degree and it was a perfect fit for my schedule. On the heels of the chart topping #1 song, "Kokomo," it was a very special time in the band's history. I'm honored to have been there during that period.
While touring with the group, I became very well-acquainted with band member Adrian Baker and others in the Beach Boys band, friendships that have lasted and grown throughout the years.
In the summer of 2000, I was asked by Adrian and Mike Love to co-develop and implement a web site that pays tribute to Present, Past and Associates of the Beach Boys band over the years. It was a great opportunity to combine my skills in marketing, advertising and public relations with my experiences and passion for the Beach Boys. As a result, Beachboysband.com was created on July 7.

In 2003, Adrian Baker formed ABP Records. We have released four (4) cds on the label since then. Aside from this web site and ABP Records, my main occupation is VP of Marketing at Allen Finley Advertising. The agency mostly focuses on medical, political, furniture, music and sports advertising.

Over the years, we have produced materials for Beach Boy Al Jardine (web site), Charlie Daniels (concert booklet), Travis Tritt (concert booklet), the Class A Professional Baseball Team the Hickory Crawdads, NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt (with him at his Chevrolet dealership), and Dale Jarrett's NASCAR Racing Experience."

ADRIAN BAKER: "Everyone Needs Someone at Christmas"

The first release from ABP Records in 2003, this holiday extended-play-cd has four songs from Adrian Baker. It features classic Christmas favorites such as, White Christmas, Blue Christmas and Silent Night! The title track is an original composition by Adrian. It was an honor to be production coordinator on this project. The photograph of Adrian on the front cover of the cd was taken by me.

ADRIAN BAKER: "Surfer's Paradise"

The second release from ABP Records, this 12-song cd has 10 original songs and three (3) classic Beach Boys cover songs: "The Warmth Of The Sun," "All Summer Long," and "And Your Dream Comes True."

Adrian's original compositions evoke all the elements of classic surfing songs. With tracks such as "The Surf Is Up," "Bring Back Those Surfin' Days," and "Surfers Paradise." Baker conjures the carefree spirit, distinctive rhythms and lush harmonies that have made surf music a indelible symbol of the legendary Southern California lifestyle.
